Thanks to RevolverOcelot420 for the inspiration!
We recently spoke about Metal Gear Solid. So I searched on eBay and found Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection. Then I realized something: what’s stopping Square Enix from doing the same with their Final Fantasy series?
Obviously, they’d want to leave out Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy XII from the collection. I’m pretty sure they would want to remaster Final Fantasy XIII and release it on one disc. And I’d don’t think they’d want to release the MMO titles. Square Enix may want to release the majority of titles up to Final Fantasy IX in a collection.
In all honesty, some people may want me to hold my breath on this one. But I’m a believer. A lack of backward compatibility is the main thing stopping me from purchasing a PS4 (and Slim). Sure, you can play most of your PS1 titles on PS3 due to backward compatibility. But the novelty of having a collection on PS4 may be enough to convince fans to purchase a collection.
If they can do a Final Fantasy Legacy Edition, I may eat my hat sell my old games on eBay!
…naw, I’ll probably keep them.
But I’d like to streamline my collection. I’d be all for a Final Fantasy: The Legacy Collection edition!
Or a Crystal Collection.
