It is all an endless dream. Yet still… the fantasy must come to an end…
Yuna: “I seem to forget that Cosmos is the one who summoned us here when I talk with her.”
Lightning: “I can’t see her wielding immense powers, especially from how she talks to us. Yet, I was wondering what kind of selfish idiot could summon us at first.”
Cosmos is a Mankin, but does not seemingly have the ability to fight. As the goddess of Harmony, she reigns over World B. Originally based on Cid of the Lufaine’s wife, she retains all of her memories. Along with Cid and Chaos, Cosmos arrives to World B 2,000 years earlier than the events on Dissidia. Together, she and Chaos ruled World B.
Her role in the conflict takes place when Cid bargains with Shinryu to return to World A. The result: an eternal cycle of war, in which Shinryu revives the slain warriors on both sides. He consumes their memories and grows stronger. Chaos receives some of the power with each cycle, in order to become a perfect weapon.
Cosmo, by contrast, is frail and imperfect in comparison to Cid’s wife. As Shinryu and Chaos grow stronger, Cosmo becomes increasingly weaker, unable to handle either. She summons warriors to fight for her.
Cosmos: “I have been defeated by Chaos. The god of discord, Chaos… His brutal powers destroyed the balance of all things, threatening the fabric of reality itself. All existence is on the brink of doom. Ten of you remain–and you are the last hope left to this world. I implore you. Obtain the light that even in a broken world could never fade– the light of the crystals. The crystals embody the strength to face despair. With ten gathered, there is hope yet to save the world. The path to your crystal will be perilous… and different for each and every one of you. But you must believe in and follow your own path. Even if you know not where that path leads…”
During the later cycles, Cosmos plans to sacrifice her life in order to save her warriors.
