That’s right! It’s Minwu/Mindu from Soul of Rebirth, the sequel to Final Fantasy II.
In Soul of Rebirth, much like in Final Fantasy II, the character on the top row is your team leader. And in this game, the team leader is usually the main character, and also the main protagonist. Minwu is a white mage. He can hold his own again monsters with whatever weapon you build him up to wield. Even the super boss refers to Minwu in the story. Best part, Soul of Rebirth, while a sequel of the sort, operates similarly like the second half of Final Fantasy VI. This means Minwu is the main protagonist of this half, as Celes was a type of the main protagonist in the World of Ruin. The only difference is the events in Soul of Rebirth happen concurrently to the end game of Final Fantasy II.
And now that you know that there is one, is there really still a need for Square Enix to make another? Maybe concentrate on a main bard character and protagonist, or a black mage?
