No matter how you look at Eiko, the design remains one of the creepiest in the series. Garnet’s skin-tight orange spandex jumper is weird. The game made a habit of constantly pointing out the backside of a 17-year-old girl. But Eiko’s clothing is a mismatched disaster of questionable tastes.
First, let’s get the good out of the way. The color of the bow matches her pants.
I don’t know what to make of her long shirt. It’s obviously too big for her, but it fits around her torso. It’s just long in the sleeves. Why? Her coral shirt has a turtleneck and a collar. So who would make this in kids size? But her long shirt tucks under a pink, form-fitting spandex. The red clashes with the pink. But her in-game model makes it worst. The pink spandex is close to her skin tone, so most players would think she exposes herself from the front.
The artists can’t say this wasn’t the intention. Look at how her chest plate covers her chest like a bikini top. The pants connect to the belt around her chest like fishing overalls that sag far below her knees. This intentionally brings the focus right to her midsection, of which the color is nearly identical to her skin.
She’s just a kid. Her shoes are stupidly large. How does she keep from tipping over herself? And does she really need ankle boots when the pants don’t cover the shoes? She’s living the bohemian lifestyle, that’s for sure. Like a child grifter. But in no way should anyone let this child where something like this.
