Sometime in Chapter 3, a Heresy Examiner for the Church of Glabados named Zalmour Lucianada brands Ramze a heretic. There’s no going back now. His faith’s sealed. So why not find armor that’s just as equally heretical?
The front of what he wears isn’t so bad, I guess. He wears quite a few leather straps, making you think Yoshida took direction from Nomura. But the black fabric with white leather pants is symbolic of his sinful status. There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with this.
Strangely enough, he wears cyan armor. That’s a wear color choice. OK, if he’s a heretic, certainly he knows not to bring attention to himself. He stands out significantly. Why not black armor? Does cyan signify hope? I think it’s just a little too bright and showy.
Still, why would he change his outfit to denote his heretic status? Even if he shouldn’t wear the same outfit Zalmour sentenced him in, why this:
Why would he wear an armor-plated thong that exposes his white, skin-tight leather pants? Seriously. Right around the time Final Fantasy Tactics released, Metal Gear Solid had a similar cheek exposed protagonist. Yeah, Solid Snake. And for some reason, both Ramza and Solid Snake were made to have perfectly rounded bottoms. Why? Why was this is a thing?
Of course, you had to be looking for it…
Considering that Ramza is running away from the Church, he wants them to know his utter disdain for them.
