No one in Final Fantasy X-2 has the best of fashion sense, especially for a game that centers on dresses. But Leblanc has the worst design in the game. Her dress has many of the same confusing clothing designs as Ultimecia. The plunging V-neck. The emphasis on her shoulders. The weird leg split in her dress. It’s all there. Only here, it’s worst. Much much worst. For all of those who wish her top could be more revealing, sorry. She may be evil, but she has standards.
Whereas Ultimecia’s dress hinted at triangular patterns in the negative space, Leblanc dress features them in abundance. Jagged edges protrude around her dress, hinting at her prickly nature. But it’s an eyesore, just like she is. She constantly protrudes in your affairs. But the sharp design contrasts with swirly lines on her grape purple tights and around her arm. Her sleeves happen to be enormously loose. Why?
Like Ultimecia, she has no shame. Her dress is a revealing variation of a Japanese furisode kimono. But what’s going on here? Why does her collar have tassels at the end? Is it a graduation cap? Is she a scholar? She can use magic, but is that what her designer is hinting at with the mystic purple and teal? Why are her shoes so blocky? Why does the kimono have tail flaps to expose both legs? Just like Leblanc, something’s off about them. They fit the form of her body wrapping to the right. No, that’s not it. That’s just how she looks from the front. From the right side, there’s a hole where her thighs stick out. It’s not a split. There’s a hole on the side of her dress. Leblanc’s garb makes Ultimecia’s look luxurious in comparison.
