Apparently, the world of Lestallum has Cuban, Malaysian and Moroccan influences.
If that’s true, then why dress like this?
It looks normal enough: a girl with a tank top and jeans. For the first Final Fantasy based on reality, this game has some of the best designs. In fact, Noctis and his boy band look worst, like a resurgence of 90’s fashion crept into the early ’00s.
Then we see these workers’ gear. What? What culture is this fishing gear from? I assume part of her job is to wade in the water. Why are her overalls so loose? Are they for catching water? Normally, fishing overalls keep water out of the pants. Here, they’re sure to scoop up water, defeating the purpose of the overalls. What’s the point?
Why camouflage? Is it so she doesn’t bring attention to the fish? Of course, I can’t say much, except for the fact that this isn’t enough. Perhaps that’s what makes this clothing so awkward. We expect reality, but no one would wade in the water wearing this.
Not one…
Well, maybe she would…
