Yunalesca is definitely the worst-dressed Final Fantasy character. First, she’s not wearing anything. This isn’t a probably if you’re into half-naked ladies, but it illustrates her lack of fashion sense. Second is more egregious. Does she have streamers on her waist? Yes, she does. She has elongated streamers attached to her waist AND wrapped around her forehead. Why? In the illustration, it signifies rapid motion. In real life, she’d look silly with her plumes flapping in the wind. They’d constantly hit random pedestrians in the face while walking down the street. Or levitating. How can she walk with two silver anklets shaped into the atomic whirl around her feet?
Final Fantasy characters suffer from having a lot of random, useless accessories. Yunalesca predictably has only one element of clothing around her leg. But here it makes sense, as women wear a garter on one leg for their wedding. So then, was Yunalesca on her way to her wedding? But weren’t she and Zaon newly-weds? Tell me she isn’t just wearing a blue garter because it “looks cool”.
The rest of what little she has on isn’t too much of a problem. She’s wearing a lot of thin bracelets and belts to make up for the fact she’s practically naked. Her blue and black bra works well with her thong. Otherwise, it’s a very sparse dress. Maybe that’s a good thing. I guess it’s better than her trying to pick out clothing like Tidus and other Final Fantasy characters. But she wore this performing a sacred religious ritual. You shouldn’t walk out of the house wearing this, let alone to a religious ceremony. Why couldn’t wear a respectable garb like Yuna? Yuna wears a traditional purple pleated, dress with flowers patterned on the sides. Mildly kitschy. But in contrast to Yuna, Yunalesca is loose. And I mean that in a literal sense.
