Today I submit to you why Final Fantasy XV will become the highest selling Final Fantasy of all time.
Consider the evidence:
“Final Fantasy VII was both a critical and commercial success and set several sales records. Within three days of its release in Japan, the game had sold 2.3 million copies.”
A little over a year later, Square Enix released Final Fantasy VIII:
“In Japan, it sold roughly 2.5 million units within the first four days of release.”
Much later we have the most divisive Final Fantasy to date: Final Fantasy XIII:
Final Fantasy XIII sold over one million units on its first day of sale in Japan, and had sold 1.7 million copies for the PlayStation 3 in Japan by the end of 2009, and 1.9 million by the end of 2010.
And finally, we come to Final Fantasy XV. It sold 5 million copies in the first two days of its release.
Final Fantasy XV shipped and digitally sold a total of 5 million copies within the first 24 hours of sales, becoming the fastest record for the series.
As we can see, this is double the sales of Final Fantasy VII within the first day. If sales continue, Final Fantasy XV will sell more than 10 million within a year. This is why I believe Final Fantasy XV will become the highest selling Final Fantasy game in history.
