Blitzball kid is the key to everything and may have killed Tidus
Note the model in the first picture by remembering the color of the headband – then look at this: https://youtu.be/6h0utCUbD0U?t=1557
In the Fiend Tale endings, a notable Bomb was created from the spirit of a boy who was an Auroch fan and dreamed to join the team alongside his best friend, the two known as the Golden Duo. Learning that his friend had not been practicing since his death, Bomb decides to help him by assuming the form of a Blitzball.
And finally
There’s always a green bandana kid. There’s always a blitzball. There’s always a bomb.
What does all of this mean? First, a little bit of background.
In Kilika, Tidus approaches a kid who tells him “I’m gonna be a blitzball when I grow up!” This is the English translation of course, so many the localizers got something wrong? Well, the Japanese translates to “When I grow up, I’m gonna be a blitzball!” So then, maybe it was an error in the script?
If it was, the line remained in the English HD remaster. The Japanese HD fixed the line.
But maybe the original scriptwriters for Final Fantasy X decided to have a bit of fun with the error?
In the novella Final Fantasy X-2.5 ~Eien no Daishō~, Tidus take a step towards what appears to be a Blitzball. The size and shape are similar, but it’s leather and tan. Tidus doesn’t have to kick it for the bomb to explode. Horrifically, Tidus’ head flies from his body. It’s all too creepy from what we know of Final Fantasy X and X-2. But what may be even creepier is that the literal dream guy to met his killer.
I still think this is just Kitase and Nojima writing “what-if” scenario. Nothing may come of this. The fact that it’s official is kind of disappointing; we’d expect better from the guys who wrote the PlayStation 2 classic. But like I said, it sounds like they were just playing off the original text error.
But what if the Bomb boy arc plays into a Final Fantasy X-3? I’d laugh. I’d want this to be a thing in the final part of the Final Fantasy X’s trilogy. If they make it, that is…
