So if you watched Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, what do you consider to be your favorite part? The characters? The combat? The voice acting? The story?
Or rather, what missed opportunities did you see in each?
I think most people really wanted the opening scenes of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, Insomnia included, to be playable. It would have been great to have Noctis interact with the city in a slow build. We could have had the option to go straight to the story if we chose. Then, for dramatic purposes, have Noctis present for the treaty to go wrong. The politics behind the scenes was pretty cool, so why not have this part in the game?
The Invasion of Insomnia would have had more impact on the narrative. And this is what I bet they were going to accomplish. Why else was their car to break down? I think that, originally, the car was to suffer heavy damage when fleeing Insomnia. At least this is what I think the original concept was going to be.

It would have been an awesome introduction. Imagine, this being the real reason their car broke down. Imagine seeing soldiers shoot at them. Either way, after they lose them, it seems like the game’s events would still progress the same way. We also wouldn’t have an oddly placed cold opening in media res.
The only true connection, besides the lore, was this scene at the end:
Not bad, but I think quite a few people wanted more connection between the movie and the game. I think Nyx’s role could have originally been for Noctis. We would have seen him interacting with the people, hanging out in the city, eating the delicacy. It would have been cool to tie in some of this interaction with Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV as well. It would have made for a slower game, but the build-up would have been spectacular! No need completely remove Nyx from the Universe altogether; still, the events of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV should have been for the game.
