I’ve thought about this while playing Final Fantasy I & IV on the PSP. In those editions, you get to fight the villains from other Final Fantasy games (I – VI). And when it comes to the fidelity of the graphics, I think they’re the best I’ve played on any system. I don’t care too much for collector editions. I do like complete collections and those two fit the bill. The graphics are crisp, with very little pixelation.
But then we get to Final Fantasy III, but it’s simply the boring old DS version. At least I think it’s boring. It’s still a fun game. I really like the additions they’ve made to the story. But if it were styled of Final Fantasy I, II and IV on the PSP…
While I like seeing big head peg legged people in some instances, I’d rather not see oblong shapes fight and complain in grainy 3-D environments.
But what if III didn’t follow IV in the 3D aesthetics on the PSP version? And what if they finished the job with Final Fantasy V and VI? I think I remember Tetsuya Nomura wanting a remake done on these two games. Why not throw in III as well?
