According to the Final Fantasy Wikia, Edgar:
Edgar is a ladies’ man. From the minute he is introduced to her, he unsuccessfully hits on Terra, and flirts with Celes upon meeting her, and apparently shows an interest in Relm before she tells him her age. In the Japanese version, he’s still interested in Relm even after knowing her age. This dialogue was toned down in the overseas releases.
But something’s kind of “off” about Edgar’s flirting. Aside from the gross mentions of pedophilia. I know that part of the joke is that he’s somewhat of a bad ladies man
Several people note that Edgar is a flirt making him a target for jokes, mostly from Locke, while his twin brother Sabin refers to his behavior towards women as an “old bad habit”.
but his success was sub-par at best. Rather, his success seems to be non-existence. The women in Figaro Castle comment on how laughable his flirting skills are. And he strangely hits on Relm (in the Japanese version). So what’s the deal? funbob1 theorizes:
I’ve always believed Edgar was homosexual. It’s, to me at least, the only reason he would not want to be king of Figaro despite being into the same engineering his dad was, because he knows he’d be likely to not produce an heir.
Thomas Jefferson devoted most of his attention to inventions while in office. The reason he hits on Relm and the other women in Figaro Castle? Just to say that he can (even though he has bad judgment.
But what do you think?
