In World of Final Fantasy, they gave Quistis Trepe a British accent.
That was as surprising as not giving Faris a pirate accent.
We generally know what Squall and Selphie sound like thanks to Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts, respectively.
But what about Irvine? If they ever remake Final Fantasy VIII, what voice will they give him? We could assume his dialect based on his clothing.
Irvine wears his long brown hair in a ponytail and has blue eyes. He has a black cowboy hat, a purple vest, a long khaki-colored jacket, black fingerless gloves and brown chaps over black trousers with black boots. He wears gray earrings and a red and yellow beaded necklace.

Consider that if the developers had to use a country for inspiration, it would be between America and Australia. Australia is the land down under for Americans, but it’s just down south for the Japanese.
Interesting, because when I see him I think of both. He certainly has that outback flair, but also a Western look.
When I think of the name ‘Irvine’, I think of an American cowboy, but even that might be misleading:
Clan Irvine is a clan from the Scottish Lowlands.
Irvine, along with Zell Dincht, has his birthday on a holiday. While it is not a consistent holiday (being the 4th Thursday of November in the US), Irvine’s birthday is a common date on which Thanksgiving falls.
Who knows, I guess we’d have to wait.
