Browsing the web for information on Selphie Tilmitt, I came across this.
OK, but this misunderstands Selphie’s character.
She’s not “evil”.
She feels empathy.
She has ADHD.
People with ADHD may experience:
Behavioral: aggression, irritability (“UP YOURS!”), excitability (“WOO-HOO!”), fidgeting (rocking back and forth on a pilot seat), hyperactivity (“We’ll blow a big hole in it BOOOOOM!!” “Blow it to smithereens with a rocket launcher!”), impulsivity (jumping off a cliff, banging the missile launch keyboard), lack of restraint or persistent repetition of words or actions (“Train, train, take us away…”)
Cognitive: absent-mindedness, forgetfulness (“I’m late, I’m late!”), difficulty focusing, problem paying attention, or short attention span (“Everybody! LOVE. and. PEACE!”)
Mood: anger, anxiety, boredom, excitement or mood swings (Selphie’s moods and actions during the ending credits)
Also common: learning disability or depression was Selphie’s cheerfulness during the destruction of Trabia Gardens a front?
She’s a normal teenager. Selphie and the cast of VIII aren’t very dimensional since they haven’t quite figured themselves out yet. But the subtleties of who they will emerge throughout the game. But of course, they seem to manifest deeply ingrained and maladaptive pattern of behavior (of a specified kind).
So which of the other Final Fantasy characters, in your opinion, has a personality disorder or chronic condition?
Note: Having a personality disorder or chronic condition doesn’t make one a bad person. Don’t take this as a cheap shot against your favorite character. They won’t be people even if you “diagnose” your favorite character (like I did). It’s just discussion.
